Frequently Asked Questions

  • In the state of Massachusetts you have to be 18 years or older with a valid ID. I will need a copy of your ID for the consent form

  • Fantastic question! Once we finish you’ll get a print out to my aftercare instructions, but overall KEEP IT CLEAN, light unscented soap 2x a day for 2 weeks, light unscented lotion as needed for itchiness. It is going to feel like a sunburn… DO NOT PICK AT IT! This can cause complications with your healing and increase “fall out” of ink.

Keep it out of the sun for a few weeks, do not rub sunscreen into it while it is still healing.

Exercise: use your discretion, I wouldn’t recommend rubbing your brand new tattoo into a yoga mat or wearing tight clothes that rub against it as it is healing. Treat it like a cut

  • Of course! They can shop at the retail store, hang out in the waiting area or head to the beach. I don’t recommend bringing more than 1-2 people because it can get overwhelming for all of us

  • Most important thing is that you are comfortable! Back tattoos are great for a backwards hoody or a loose T-shirt. For arm and leg tattoos feel free to wear what makes you most comfortable, we can roll up sleeves or pant legs. Shorts with sweatpants is always a hit so you can have one leg in one leg out if you get cold.

Sternum pieces are tricker, bathing suit tops, loose tanks, button down or zip up hoodies can be great options. I also have pasties for you if you’d prefer!

  • Short answer is it depends! I am always down to look at your current piece and give you my honest opinion as to what we can do to change it, cover it or incorporate it into something else. If you have a vision for how you’d like it to look, I will tell you if I can achieve it, and if I can’t, I’ll tell you steps to take to get as close as possible (laser, changing the design, etc).

General rule is if you want to cover something up completely, it usually has to be about 3x bigger than what you already have. This is a general statement, and doesn’t always apply, but it is something to consider.

  • My shop minimum is $150, that means that even a tiny tattoo will be $150. I charge by piece, rather than by hour so that I don’t ever feel rushed. I

This is a basic (and subject to change) estimate that I usually give:

    Tiny-2 inches is around $150

Credit card size is around $250-350

    Hand size is around $400-600

My full day price is $900, this is a good ballpark for half sleeves, full sleeves, large scale back pieces or chest pieces.

This pricing breakdown is broad for a reason, if we are doing a palm sized piece on your forearm it will likely be in the $250 range, but if we do the same piece on your sternum there is more to consider so we may be in the $350 range

  • Totally understand! My specialty is working with people with complex mental health experiences, trauma and substance use backgrounds. You are totally welcome to “unmask” in this environment and I will be as accommodating as I can possibly be.

When you send your inquiry email, it is normal to wait a few weeks for me to respond. Once I do, I may ask you to send me some reference pictures to help me understand how to draw the best tattoo for you. Then I will send you a booking link, a price estimate and you can feel free to select a day/time on my calendar. You will be asked to submit a 20% deposit and fill out a consent form that includes any medical conditions, allergies, and to add a photo of your ID.

Once the appointment comes, you can park on the street, adjoining lot or take public transit to Gully’s. Please don’t arrive more than 30 min before your appointment unless you’d like to shop around because I normally have a back-to-back schedule.

Once it is your appointment time, I will show you an initial design and ask for your feedback! This is a collaborative process and I want you to have the best experience possible, meaning I WANT you to tell me if anything should be changed! You hopefully picked to work with me because you like my style and I try to keep it within the realm of what I love to do, but I am always up to talk about your vision for a piece.

When we agree on the piece, you will come back to my tattoo station and we will start to stencil the tattoo! This is the least permanent part, we can move it around, change it up, try different sizes and rotations. Once you like where it is, we let it dry for a few minutes and then I will have you sit in the tattoo bed to start working. I start with a tiny line so you know how it feels, and then you can let me know if you would like to keep going, or if ever you want to take a break, stretch or go pee. I have chill music playing in my tattoo area, and you are always welcome to let me know if there is an artist or vibe that work make you feel more comfortable. I also have sodas, a water cooler, coffee and snacks available for you.

Once we are done we will take some pictures if that is ok with you ( I always ask, and it is up to you if I post them or not). Then I wrap your tattoo up with either saniderm or a non-adhesive wrap and you are done! You get an aftercare package with instructions on how to take care of your new piece, soap, lotion and some goodies to reward your bravery.

I can take cash, card, venmo or zelle for payment, and I take your deposit out of the total of the tattoo cost. If you’d like to shop a bit in the store that is totally fine, and you get a discount for being a tattoo client!

  • Gully’s is located on a street with handicap parking available right in the front. There is a ramp from the sidewalk up to the shop, and there are no steps once you are inside. I have a clear pathway from the front door to the back tattoo room, large enough for a wheelchair or walker to pass through easily. The restroom is small, unfortunately not large enough for a full wheelchair to enter and close the door. We are working on getting a wheelchair accessible restroom in the future!
